Pepe Pimentel, one of the known television icons in 80’s and 90’s had died this morning. The 83-year-old former host and actor collapsed in the bathroom of his home along Scout Tuazon, Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City this morning (January 24, 2013). He was the host of the now defunct noon-time show “Kwarta O Kahon” in the 90’s in RPN 9 which aired from 1962 to 2000, and was the inspiration behind the “Pera O Bayong” segment of Willie Revillame’s “Wowowee.”
And was famous for his “biyenan jokes.”
I grew up watching his show when I was young. And seen sometimes when I was still living somewhere in the Scout area in Quezon City. As my own assessment, I think, he really is a good, friendly and almost a typical guy. I surely will miss the guys we once called “tito Pepe”.
