UPDATE: For those who want to pay their respect and sympathy for the passing of Karl Roy, he was cremated and now lies in a small chapel at the Mount Carmel Shrine in New Manila as posted by his brother Kevin in his own facebook account.

Kevin Roy's post in his facebook account.

Karl Roy’s sister, Kathryn, announced her brother’s death on her Facebook page.

It is with deepest sadness that I share the news of Karl’s passing. He was called Home today at 1:01 a.m. Manila time (Tuesday, March 13th), surrounded by those who loved him most – mommy, Keith, Kevin, Krys, his daughter Arianna, and our cousin Jack…” she said.

For those who didn’t know Karl Roy, who died today, March 13, 2012 at around 1 AM (PH Time) at his home, surrounded by his family, and there is still no report for the cause of his death. He is the vocalist of Advent Call who’s hit is “Memories (Of Our Dreams)“, P.O.T. with hits like “Yugyugan Na!“, “Piece Of This” and my personal favorite “Panaginip” and Kapatid, his last band with hits like “Prayer” and “Pagbabalik ng Kwago“. One of the rock icons in the Philippine Rock music scene of the 90s’ along side with his brother Kevin Roy, vocalist for the band, Razorback.

If I ever see you face to face again
I’ll ask you why so soon
and in your grand debut
from death reborn again to life I pray

I hate to see you haunting or in your private hell
I hope you make it
This prayer’s for you yeah Oh

wax and wicker that burns throughout the night
the light you shine makes me smile
You are the candle that turns the darkness back
extinguished fire

I hate to see you haunting or in your private hell
I hope you make it
This prayer’s for you yeah Oh

(All my life I know she’s waiting)
(All my life I know she’s waiting.)

– Prayer, Kapatid

To the family who’re left behind by his passing, my sympathy and condolence to you all..

We lost a rock music icon, but we will continue to rock on for Karl Roy and the “Memories” he left in every one of us will live on! \m/
