A Question From Mr. Errel Vin Arboleda And The Preamble

To Mr. Errel Vin Arboledas’ question regarding: Why “other predominantly Catholic nations such as Ireland already have such reproductive law existing in their country, so why can’t we be like them?

My answer, it is because we are over run by the Catholic Church, even though they are silent, they control us. From the echelons of our society, using the politicians, they control the land. (that’s also the reason why the bill for Divorce was never passed 2 years ago till now)

To cite you an example, our 1987 Philippine Constitution (the core areas) was written according to the principles and teachings of the Bible, and there are Bishop attendees when they re-write the laws of the land, example of such person are Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, S.J., J.S.D. is a Jesuit and is Dean Emeritus of Ateneo Law School in Makati City, Philippines, and Catholic Bishop Teodoro Bacani. They are members of the 1986 Constitutional Commission which drafted the present Philippine Constitution.

Even our Preamble is influenced and approved by them.

The Preamble reads:

We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just and humane society, and establish a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our posterity, the blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality, and peace, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.

But if we read our first Preamble, the Preamble made in Malolos Convention. It should be like this:

Nosotros los Representantes del Pueblo Filipino, convocados legítimamente para establecer la justicia, proveer a la defensa común, promover el bien general y asegurar los beneficios de la libertad, implorando el auxilió del Soberano Legislador del Universo para alcanzar estos fines, hemos votado, decretado y sancionado la siguiente.TRANSLATION:

We, the Representatives of the Filipino people, lawfully covened, in order to establish justice, provide for common defense, promote the general welfare, and insure the benefits of liberty, imploring the aid of the Sovereign Legislator of the Universe for the attainment of these ends, have voted, decreed, and sanctioned the following.

That is why we cannot be like the other countries like Ireland. And that’s the sad truth behind it.
